  • DT_03_TL_PAK_solo

This solo was filmed at "Drumtrainer" in Berlin, Germany. I just improvised a short solo. I tried to pursue and elaborate on a few spontaneous ideas and composed a solo that has a definable structure.

This song also has an interesting groove. It reminds me of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" but this song is quite a bit older than hers. Silly lyrics and an interesting beat- what else can you ask for?

  • DT_Thomas-Lang_Song_Loeschen-bitte_720p

This is a song called "Löschen, Bitte" by an Austrian artist named "Rohling". It's got an interesting groove with all the left hand strings of 16th-note singles. In the verses there is no backbeat, only the stack cymbal simulating a hand clap and in the choruses the backbeat gets added to the s...

  • Freak

This is a song by "Terabite"- a project I started together with the incredible drummer and singer/guitar player Nick diVirgilio in 2007. • Bat

This was the first single from the 2013 release "Broken Pieces" by StOrk. It's heavy yet melodic and fairly approachable. The drum patterns are very distinct, composed and organized. There is little room for improvisation here and the feel is heavy with a good portion of syncopated double-kick wo...

  • Cricket Chorus

Another song by the band "Spark 7". I always enjoy playing this one live because it has this interesting combination of Fusion, Funk and Metal. The drum parts are clean and organized and there are some 16th-note triplet unison parts as well as some good-old 16th note stomping on the kick drums. H...

  • Nautilus

This one is a classic! One of my songs from my third instructional DVD that seems to be a favorite among my students and fans around the world. It's fairly easy to play and has a "Tech-Rock" feel to it. Check out the syncopated bass drum pattern to make it feel and move correctly.
